The House on Park is located on Park Avenue — yes, that Park Avenue — on Victorian Row in Berlin, Wisconsin, steps from City Park. A hidden gem of a town in the heart of the state, with a river, great food, and exactly zero pretension.

Out back, past the Enchanted Forest — the small stand of trees Janet's aunt named years ago, back when this block drew 1,200 Halloween trick-or-treaters — there's a garden that stops people mid-sentence. Mark tends it with the kind of attention most people reserve for fine art. In late June and July it's honestly a little ridiculous.
